Nourish Health - Culinary Medicine

Creating nutritious, nourishing and beautiful food is my great passion.
Through both my clinical work and my own personal life, I have gained a deep awareness of the fundamental role diet and nutrition play in health. I have been passionate about cooking healthy food since I was an adolescent.  During university, I had the good fortune to work as a chef, to make my own daily passion into a career that has sustained me through all my studies and adventures over the years. I have cooked for backcountry lodges, retreat centers, adventure trips, the movie industry and with the Hollyhock Foundation on the incomparable Cortes Island.
Everyday we make innumerable choices about food and the impact is  broad reaching. What we eat affects our bodies, moods and energy.  People are becoming more aware of the value  of local, organic, whole food.  I am committed to the practical art of choosing, preparing and eating beautiful wholesome meals for their creative health enhancing, social and earth sustaining qualities.

Clinical Nutrition is one of the modalities that I am most excited about, so in addition my naturopathic med. practice, I teach whole foods cooking classes, do private nutrition coaching, and lead workshops here in Vancouver and at Hollyhock retreat center on  Cortes Island.

My goal in this work is to share naturopathic nutritional information and practical tools (ingredient lists, cooking techniques, shopping strategies , delicious recipes) to inspire people to:

  • Learn how our daily lifestyle and food choices can impact our health,
  • Get  familiar and creative with whole foods – using food as medicine.
  • Come to see our meals as opportunities we have at least 3 times a day to make positive, sustainable change – for ourselves, our families, communities and the earth.

Blending my passion and knowledge, I will help you to nourish healthy changes. Through both culinary guidance and naturopathic counseling, the concept of food is medicine gets put into practice and onto plates.  Moreover, it is creative, enriching, tasty fun.  I believe that having the skills and inspiration to feed ourselves well is the foundation of feeling optimal and living the good life. I look forward to sharing some delicious time in the kitchen with you!
