Get Your Greens Smoothie

This smoothie is a great way to start your day with a healthy dose of green vegetables!

If your palate needs some time to work your way up  to more greens in a glass, you can begin with adding some more fruit or fruit juice – pineapple is great here, or a frozen banana for more sweetness. If you like it more thick and creamy, add an avocado to add more nutritious and satiating monounsaturated fats.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup leafy greens (chard, kale, spinach)
  • 1/2 cup chopped cucumber
  • 1 apple
  • 1 cup coconut water
  • 1 inch ginger
  • lime, juiced
  • ice cubes as desired

Directions:

  • Add the water, lime juice and ginger to blender
  • Blend on high.
  • Then add apple.
  • Blend again until smooth and creamy.
  • The add greens and blend until combined.
