Naturopathic Medicine

A Unique Philosophy

I practice as a Naturopathic doctor in Vancouver. In my first visit with you, I want to know what brings you to this place you are today. I want to find out what is on your mind, how you feel in your body and what you are looking for in the short and long term. I see my role as being a trained and experienced guide, doing detective work alongside you to find out what might be causing your symptoms. Together we seek to identify what may be the obstacles in your path to optimal function that we may need to remove, or if there are the deficiencies or missing ingredients that we need to replenish and to get you back to restored health.

Where we begin/what to expect:

An initial consultation is a one-hour visit, where we go through a complete health assessment. This will include the following:

  • An exploration of your health background and history

  • A detailed look at your current health needs and concerns

  • A non-invasive physical exam if indicated.

  • A review of any medical reports, medications and supplements you are currently taking.

After reviewing this we will develop a comprehensive and individualized treatment plan which may include: lab tests (Lifelabs tests or private functional labs), vitamin and mineral  supplementation, nutritional counselling, botanical medicine, acupuncture, vitamin injection, prescription medication. Each visit is tailored specifically with your needs in mind, we will go at a pace you feel comfortable with.

Follow-ups: Frequency and need.

For the first few months, it is often helpful to have an appointment every few weeks so that we can track what is working, results of testing, and make the needed adjustments to your treatment plan based on your individual response.  My recommendations will be made on a case by case basis. As you get improvements, you may need less frequent check ins for support and guidance.

How long to see results?

Each individual will experience change and improvement at a different rate. The progress made can related to a number of factors, including how long a condition has been present, and may take more time to reach resolution and healing.

My goal is to help you improve your health and well-being by learning about your body and how it works. Ideally, I want to empower you not only with the medicine to transform your health, but also the knowledge and tools to make positive practical changes that enhance your life.
